The Issue

  So I am a very busy person who is on the go alot for my work, but inbetween clients I often wish I could world on my worlds. However due to how poorly the website is optimized for mobile such is almost impossible. And I dont have a laptop to bring with me. As it stands right now if I attempt to use the website on mobile there are many issues where the UI scaling doesnt work on mobile. Ui elents often get clipped over eachother or off screen, or just don't show up at all making site navigation impossible. And its near impossible to make articles as well. As since I am very busy I usually have more time available to me on my mobile phone rather than a PC.  

What Benefits would come from fixing this issue?

  If this is fixed it would do wonders. More people will be able to have more time to work on their worlds as the no longer require a PC to work on it. This would attract more to the community. Even for non-worldbuilders, providing mobile access would allow a wider audience to come to the site. Which means more subscriber/followers of the communities built on the platform and a larger community in general.   In short:  
  • Easier access for those who can't access a PC
  • On the fly article editing and world building when on the go.
  • more visibility for the world anvil community.
  • Ability to view and consume content on the go.

    Thanks for your suggestion! Recent updates have improved the UI and we're always looking at ways to improve it even more. If you find specific elements that are not working, you can screenshot them and create a bug report: https://www.worldanvil.com/udan-tracker/.   We'll always bear mobile in mind for future updates, but, while we understand that the website isn't fully optimized for mobile devices, mobile optimization will for now not be the priority. A complex website like World Anvil can't be optimized for all screen sizes without an app. We still plan on creating an app, but although it's on our roadmap, it's still in the far future..

      I would love a mobile app. Though I know it is in development, optimization for mobile devices would still help me tremendously

      The team has done so much to make the mobile experience better, but I admit (fighting to type this on my portabale keyboard on my phone) I think there is still room for improvement. It IS much better, though!!!

      I'd love this - it'd be great to have WorldAnvil properly accessible on my phone when I'm travelling for the moment that creative spark hits or when one of my TTRPG players asks a lore question that's buried in my WA archives.
