"Undo" Button

User Interface (UI) / User Experience (UX) · Articles & templates · Created by Yelrafekim

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Currently unable to correct unintentional errors if the autosave kicks in. Example: For some wonky reason when I deleted a line break in an article it also deleted over 1000 words from the very beginning of the article and then autosaved. I was left with a hopeless situation.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

An undo button would allow the author to recapture lost text.

What are other uses for this feature request?

It would allow easy error correction for those of us who aren't perfect.

The Team's Response

Sadly the WYSIWYG editor has limitations. One of them is that certain actions cannot be undone.   There are 2 more editors that both of them fully support undo.   You can change your editor here   Plato will be reworked in the future but the function cannot be added to its current version.

I have heard the explanation for why the ctrl+z function doesn't work consistently with the Plato/WYSIWYG Editor when someone backspace in error, but I'm more throwing coins in support for the editor being reworked soon because I tend to rely heavily on ctrl+z when working and I can imagine the frustration of users who want to continue to use the WYSIWYG editor when this happens.
