The articles and categories page is the primary place to organize articles & categories (duh!). It is possible to create articles with the purple Quick Content Creation quickly, but it is awkward.
You need to add the category and can't set the excerpt and need to re-load the list for the article to show up.
I propose that a green article creation button is added to the top of the list. When clicked a dropdown comes up with the potential templates (potentially searchable).
Once clicked an article is created without a title but added to the currently selected category. The sidebar is opened and can be directly filled in (e.g. excerpt etc.).
This would be a good way to create a mass of articles when a project is started or to prepare something for a family tree etc.
The Team's Response
This is a really good suggestion and although it did not get the required support it will be implemented
