Word Conjugation

I wish to see a new addon for words in the language article which adds conjugations for words, so that one can write all conjugations within the one word instead of adding a separate word for each version of a word. It would be much appreciated to see all versions of the word under the original word. Simply adding something like a "Conjugation" tab where you can put in different tenses of the word would go a long way in creating and listing words for fantasy languages, or otherwise.

The additional ideas of other members regarding plural and possessive versions of words are great and would be great additions as well

The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! As a fellow conlanger, I understand how useful it is to have conjugations for individual words in addition to a generic conjugation table. However, doing this would require either supporting an arbitrary number of fields, each with extremely long drop-downs (to account for every possible grammatical feature—there are hundreds of them!), or allowing for a custom field so you can create tables.   You can already create tables (I recommend interactive tables) and we consider the feature drop-downs to be out of scope for World Anvil. Therefore, we're declining this feature.

I very much agree that conjugation, plural and possessive would all be excellent additions to dictionary entries.

You can write rules for conjugation in the article; you can already parenthetically include irregular morphemes when you enter a word. I'm very on the fence for this.

I agree with the person below who suggested the addition of both the plural and possessive versions of the word (the singular non-possessive version should be the default, I think), in addition to this suggestion's recommendation of adding the conjugations.

This would be great to have. I would personally also like to see singular/plural and owning/possessive (I do not know the correct term in English for this) form of words being available in the same way.
