Add Planning Notes to Campaign Sessions

Campaign-Manager -session-notes -TTRPG Notes Planning campaign-session

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Currently, when you schedule a new session in the Campaign Manager, there is no place to put your notes for the session. These are distinct from the Excerpt, which is to "entice the players."   This is distinct from the related plot page, since the planning notes would be for ease of setup. For example, a plot page probably contains a list of rooms in the dungeon and what's in each room, but the notes would contain more specific, planning-related info like "PCs are currently in room 15. Remember the door to room 17 is now blocked off (barricade) and the BBEG knows they are there."   Yes, you could edit the plot, but reviewing the entire plot before running is a lot more tedious than having a quick notes area to jot down the "hey, have this in your head when game time starts" stuff.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

A simple "Planning Notes" section in the Session Creation interface would give GMs a place to put their prep notes and reminders, preferably hidden from player view, without having to navigate out of Campaign Manager to view or edit the plot article - if you even have one. A lot of us run from PDF modules and just use WorldAnvil for storing lore data.

What are other uses for this feature request?

Many GMs like having two records of what happened - a narrative one that can be shared with players as a recap, and a mechanical one reminding them about behind-the-screen stuff they need to keep in mind for next session. A "Planning Notes" prompt in session creation would serve for that. It'd be like Storyteller Seeds, but for the session.

The Team's Response

Hey beans!   I am struggling to understand why is the notebook is not used for this but I can have a look at creating a system for this.   There are multiple ideas flying right now regarding the DSTS (Digital Storyteller's Screen) and it IS about to get a complete redesign so I will be incorporation an implementation of the above.
