What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
I would like a setting to change the default catagory that article save to. I find that I often forget to set most new articlles to a category. They end up in uncatagorised, and this is ok, but I really like using a staging area catagory to stay organized. Then the staging area has everything i am preping. I feel this is probably ll the things i am in the middle of. I really like using the staging area for thes purpose but again, i always forget to set it. I would really appriciate having a setting to automatically place all new articles in staging area (or any category)How does this feature request address the current situation?
If there was a setting for defualt category it would help me stay organized and save me having to set articles to a staging area and then later set it to where i want it to be.What are other uses for this feature request?
Addiotnaly this can help when creating many articles in a row a user could set this for the time and write all their race article, then change it, write all their "X" articles. I feel like this could be a pretty easy to code, or maybe it is a core foundational function of how the site operates but hopefully thats not the case and you can add this.

on 2024-04-05 14:03"uncategorized" filter is a near perfect "staging area" as is. I fear adding options for default category it just adds more potential points of failure. I have so many categories and subcategories that if I accidentally defaulted an article to the wrong category, I may never find it again.

on 2024-03-31 00:53This seems unnecessary to me because you can already sort articles by "uncategorized" in the articles tab. You can also prevent uncategorized articles from showing in the World Codex in the world settings. Furthermore, you can edit an article's category in the quick edit sidebar in the articles tab, so it's really easy to just sort by "uncategorized" and then go through and move stuff where you want.
