Allow naming of weeks in the calendar

calendar week-names date-functionality

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Currently, the calendar supports naming the days and the months, but not naming each week in a month. Some fantasy calendars use week names which currently can't be done with the existing functionality.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

Allowing week names would allow correct date functionality when referencing these kinds of calendars and writing articles for your world.

I've seen several fantasy novels where the calendar consisted of things like "Third day of Vose", meaning the second week of the month - a medieval-era world's population may not be able to count as high as the days in a month! Either way, it allows greater flexibility and originality.

some religions may have entire weeks where they have rituals or festivals, oso this would help show exactly on the calendar when those happen.

I actually have a calendar where each week is named over the course of a season; the names are repeated from one season to another (like days of the week are repeated one week to another).

I'm not sure, but I think that was something on the to-do list anyway? At least the request feels familiar. I do agree with it, though. Even if "real" weeks don't have week names, we're not necessarily writing only about things that already exist.

I would use this in my SciFi world, Vazdimet.

Aside from common terms, weeks don't have names.
