What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Currently there is an option to set a custom "Access Denied" page, within the monetization tab of World Configuration. This custom page seems to only service articles that have been set aside for certain subscribers.
Would it be possible to add a second/alternate custom "Access Denied" page for manuscripts?
OR
Allow the current custom page to also show when trying to access a manuscript that has been locked?
How does this feature request address the current situation?
Monetization is all about funneling customers to the point of purchase. Right now, it appears that only articles have that final "Call to Action" functionality. That last chance for a user/customer to click on a link and convert their view into a purchase. By adding a customizable "Access Denied" page to manuscripts, writers would be able to utilize the benefit of one last CTA without having to make their readers backtrack and lose motivation.
What are other uses for this feature request?
I connot see any other uses, personally. However, having a separate custom "Access Denied" page for manuscripts, would allow the creator to more accurately point users to the correct place to unlock content.
The Team's Response
This did not get much support, so it is not accepted as is. I will have to discussion with Janet and the rest of the team before giving a final answer.
I am accepting it for the time being as a Discussion Topic and will update after our team meeting on Wednesday afternoon
UPDATE This will be part of the Manuscripts II version when this comes. It is not going to be expected earlier.
