manuscript BBcode books Manuscripts
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Building off of Timepool's suggestion -
here, I'd like to ask that we also receive a BBcode function to embed links to manuscripts in articles in the same way that "bookcover" categories appear.
This would mean the uploaded image for the manuscript cover is the image used for the "bookcover"-style link and then a blurb text could be added (like what is found on the back of books IRL).
How does this feature request address the current situation?
Makes it much easier for people to find manuscripts written by the author, these can be showcased within relevant articles and not just on the homepage.
What are other uses for this feature request?
Would also allow authors to create a "Library" page housing all of their manuscripts in one place with cover art and descriptions, like a mini Amazon Kindle library! All within the 'world' so these could remain as in-universe documents or books without taking the reader out of the Author's world and onto the WA page causing a disconnect.
The use of BBcode would mean that the styling of these manuscripts could be targeted by CSS giving them their own unique look to distinguish from the usual Bookcover styled category links.
Follow up
So, it turns out that BBcode for embeding manuscripts already exists, I didn't realise - my bad.
As such, I'm altering this request to focus on the section about providing blurb text. I truly feel like having the option to either upload a "back cover image" or provided blurb text would enhance this feature and shouldn't cause a massive headache to implement as we already have the capability to do so with Bookcover-style links.
The Team's Response
I will suggest that this needs to be resubmitted under the correct title and description
