Competitions
We all love the competitions on World Anvil, regardless of whether or not we win, but these contests are most often won by long term users and big names in World Anvil (not to disparage these users, their work IS amazing!). But it's also easy for other competitors to feel frustrated or disappointed seeing the same people winning again and again, even if we admire and respect the winners. This is because it can seem totally hopeless to possibly compete at their level, whether a user is new or doesn't have the same time/knowledge to create equivalent articles. I feel this issue will only grow larger as World Anvil continues to grow and as it acquires more users! It's like a pond that keeps growing but now the bigger, older fish are gobbling up all the food, the many little fish having little chance of finding food. After all, validation and exposure are our food as creators!   This is why I wanted to suggest different brackets, levels, weight classes etc. for major competitions! That way there are more winners at different sort of difficulties. We can still recognize expert creators, as they deserve, without leaving out those with less experience or resources or who are still just getting started. After all, these creators need and deserve recognition and exposure too, so that they can continue to grow! I believe having a few different levels would be helpful such as Beginner, Standard, Intermediate, Expert And so in which increases the more one wins. Or whatever variation of this. As World Anvil grows, I think it needs to make room for all of its users and restructure it's infrastructure so to speak to accommodate its burgeoning pool of users!

Yes please! There is already the premier league for people who have previously won a challenge/competition and there was talk in the early years of WA that sounded similar to this suggestion. Bring it on :D

I'm afraid, this won't be that easy to implement, but I would love this.

I completely agree that something should be done about this situation. The way things currently stand, I feel there's little point for me to participate in competitions. It'd be really nice to face competitors who don't have major popularity advantages for a change.

I've noted the same thing. I'm new here and it is hard to get readers. But I'm not sure of the right path to solve the issue. Will I get readers if I compete as a beginner? Who will volunteer to read and judge? Isn't the issue here that we tend pick what others already has liked?

I could see this working - Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced - though awkward to pull off at first. There is already a lower and higher tier for certain competitions, but this merits consideration also as way to accommodate the ever growing list of winners. Maybe a way to transition is to make the current tier Intermediate then go from there? I wonder how it would impact sponsors?

I think this is a good idea - if the same person wins 4 or 5 times the creator graduates to the next level.
