What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
There currently does not seem to be a way to easily add a Wikipedia-style Navbox without a decent bit of BBCode and CSS knowledge, making it difficult to impossible for those who aren't as familiar with them to use navboxes.
More info can be found here on what a navbox is and how they're implemented in Wikipedia:

How does this feature request address the current situation?
If it was added as a block or something similar, that would make it far easier to manage and work with than it currently is.
What are other uses for this feature request?
Navboxes make navigating articles far easier, so it helps the users of the world find what they're looking for much easier if an author has a number of different but related articles that can be grouped together into one.
The Team's Response
This feature already exists under toc:CATEGORY_ID tag.
After a discussion on Discord the parameter |horizontal has been added to allow simulation of wikipedia style boxes as well.
