What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
There are parts of the world that I would love for my players to be able to create or edit pages for their home towns or family members, but currently (as far as I can) I have to either give them writer permissions across the entire world (which allows them to see spoilers and unfinished information) or just do everything myself.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
By allowing permissions to be set on specific pages or categories, I could give them some pages to edit without worrying that they can see or change information that they're not supposed to.
I know that worlds have an author limit, but just being able to allocate the authors to their own areas would be good.
Follow up
Many thanks to SoulLink for point out this is already a thing! I suppose the follow up request would be to make it a little easier to find the option, since it's quite out of the way to the point where I and some others didn't know it existed. Also if possible, it would be nice to be able to do the same thing with categories as well as articles.
The Team's Response
I have left this here for an additional week to see how much desire there is even after the date and we had a very small number of takers.
I think that this is quite a good idea but it will require a very complex and hard to implement solution that the number of votes that it received does not justify it.
Not to future self: This will have to be an expansion of the Writers system OR a new subsystem for people marked as Players.
