This sounds really complicated. I'd LOVE for improvements to the autolinker, so I won't subtract points. But, it doesn't sound easy, I'll say that much.   What IS easy is typing "@" before an article's title is invoked, autocompleting it with the tag, and then changing the text in the brackets. When you use the autolinker, you can also parse that text to change the text in the brackets.   The workflow has to adapt outside of the autolinker, but its still relatively quick and easy, I'm not sure this is a GREAT idea. But, I really DO also want a more robust autolinker. Someone else mentioned categories, but there are more. What about autolinking other page types (Maps, sheets, anything)? Why is it only articles? I don't know what the back end of the feature even looks like.   All this for 100 points. I'm in the middle of leaning toward supporting this. But I'm not gonna hold my breath.

YES! I worldbuild in German, most of my articles have an article before the actual title (the infamous der, die, das), but if I mention, for example, an organization within another article, I wouldn't necessarily use the same case (so, "Die Organisation" might become "der Organisation"), which already doesn't trigger the autolinker.

I could really get behind a tag-like system for each article that you list strings you'd like the auto-linker to associate with that article, or else a toggle-able option for the current implementation vs a more expanded search. For larger worlds, the auto-linker can already return hundreds of results on even a modest sized article, and I could see it quickly getting out of hand if it included more than just the exact article names without any options.

Just a suggestion of what I do if this can help you :

« Anakin » is the Article Name

« Anakin » is also in the « Naming » tab « Given Name » field

« Skywalker » is in the « Naming » tab « Family Name » field

Auto linking is then just looking to « Anakin »   It would be good idea to have a kind of second name for any type of articles.
