Documentation
What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
Rather than focusing on a missing feature, this suggestion proposes that the existing features get more nuanced and easy to follow documentation. Current documentation does not explain more of the advanced features in a clear and easy to follow format, which limits the users ability to engage with those features in a meaningful and productive way and inhibits the platforms ability to act as a work multiplier for content developers.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
The current situation is that users have to go to the discord channel and scroll through multiple 'pinned messages' to hopefully try and find some community created tutorial to walk them through a process. This is an inefficient, frustrating, and very obtuse manner of trying to find out how to use features. The documentation for the site should reside on-site first, and then be supplemented in other venues, not the other way around.
What are other uses for this feature request?
General usability of the platform you've so lovingly created.
The Team's Response
As per Lyraine Alei's response.
We do have the Codex on-site, it's the button on the Help Page called "Read the Manual" - https://www.worldanvil.com/w/WorldAnvilCodex
As for an explanation of the more advanced features, the codex team encourage people to post questions and clarifications on the specific guide pages or the "Request a Guide" page if there isn't a guide on the topic as well.
The Codex team does try to balance to divisions from "Too Much Information, Reader is Overloaded," "How To Help People Find Very Specific Case Uses," and "Not Enough Information" when writing the guides.
