Could there be added a "Class" feature, where you can add your own homebrew classes or subclasses to your world?   Considering how many who uses WorldAnvil as a spot for their own homebrew world, while using some form system like Pathfinder, Dungeons and Dragons, Shadowrun, Warhammer, etc. Would it not be considered a great feature to allow those creators a place where they can add Player classes or subclasses to their world that they have homebrewed themselves as a fitting edition to their worlds.   Adding homebrew classes is a great edition in my own humble opinion as it tells how professions and skills evolve with the culture and environments of the world that people find themselves in.

The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately there isn't a common set of fields all classes in all RPG systems use, so designing a template around that is not feasible. I suggest using a Generic Article so you can structure however you prefer, or the Profession template, which is the in-world counterpart of a class.

There's a Class category, so there should be an article format. Simple as that. :-) I would also advocate the option of referencing a Character's class in their article, the same way we can add a Character's profession or family.

this is an excellent idea. My husband is aworld builder and has had to jury rig classes a couple of times.

This wouldn't be an issue if you could link assign titles and professions from the character side. It's shaving months off my lifespan to navigate to each title, wait for them to load and then navigate to the 3rd tab and do the link for each... single... damn... title... And then also navigate to the profession. By gods this is the least user friendly way this could work. Why can't i just select the titles for the character when I'm editing the character. Perhaps if this was a thing then people wouldn't have trouble doing classes as titles as it would be less tedious to work with them..........

I personally use the profession article type for classes, which is a little annoying when I want to list a characters class and profession separately, so either adapting a current article type or adding a new article type could be helpful.
