What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?
I have two polygons that overlap and the smaller one renders below the larger one, meaning I cannot click on the smaller one. Setting weight doesn't change this.
I would like to have the ability to set a z-index for a marker, whereby all markers with a z-index that's not empty render above the empty ones, then they render in order of the number.
How does this feature request address the current situation?
We can make the markers display in any order we want. For example making sure that text always renders above the marker below it (although I do think that's a hidden feature already with labels cause I've never managed to get them below the markers).
This is most noticable with polygons since they do not have any built-in priority between each other.
What are other uses for this feature request?
Properly layering multiple markers, can be rather useful for chronicles too since those can have a billion markers that don't fade in-and-out as we go along the timeline.
The Team's Response
Thank you for this suggestion! This is a good idea - and something we planned to tackle. We are currently looking at a different way to address this because we cannot add a z-axis as this will cause problems with the systems we have in place. Instead, we are considering using compound markers. - Thanks again!
