whiteboard click-and-drag
The new whiteboard feature is very useful, but they are quite fiddly to maneuver around with the current controls, once they becomes too large to have everything on screen at once. Scrolling moves up and down, which is very helpful, but not when you want to move in any other direction (sideways, diagonal etc.)
If users could click and drag blank, unused space on the background to move around, much as they can on maps, navigating larger whiteboards would be much more user friendly.
It would also be useful for when the creator of the whiteboard is zoomed in to work on a particular section, as they could then click and drag to move to another part without having to zoom out only to zoom back in.
Follow up
It seems like there are more controls than are overtly flagged, which would be could to have signposted, but it seems like clicking and dragging on blank space would still be a simple way to move around, much as we do on maps.
The Team's Response
The functionality exists already - we are working on better documentation. Simply clicking and dragging will not work for many reasons. :)

on 2022-04-07 18:48There are more controls to move the whiteboard than just scrolling up and down: SHIFT + SCROLL does an horizontal instead of vertical movement. MIDDLE-MOUSE BUTTON / SCROLL WHEEL CLICK on background allows you to pan in any direction SPACEBAR + LEFT CLICK allows you to pan any direction exactly the way you are describing. So what we really need is have this be documented because people can't find it.
