Documents and Fonts (and maybe manuscripts)

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

One of the things I enjoy doing when creating a document (or maybe a manuscript, but haven't played with them yet) is to choose a font for the document that maybe shows it's handwritten, or that it's just different from the other documents. How difficult is it to open documents to different fonts, or the fonts I have on my system?

How does this feature request address the current situation?

What are other uses for this feature request?

Thanks, I guess I didn't explain it well. When creating "Book" or "note" props for my games, I almost always choose a font that I think matches how I think the "writer" writes. Flowery and cursive for elves or drow, a blocky font for dwarves, and there are tons of fonts to choose from. I use the document article type when posting these on WorldAnvil, but don't know anything about CSS, so they always get posted using the normal font. Haven't been gaming or on WA lately due to some family matters, so this post may be a bit delayed from your question. If so, sorry

The Team's Response

Hello there! If we are talking about a prose or any other type of article, currently this can be done via CSS. There is already a plan to allow for much easier editing for fonts and their overall color/size in a world - apart from that I am not sure how to implement this. As Alishahr said, it is not clear how you are thinking of this being implemented.

I would make great use of this in my novel writing.

Reasonable request, even if the answer turns out to be "not possible". I'd also like to use different fonts and am open to different options as to how that may be achieved, if at all....

This is a good idea, however it's unclear how this should be implemented. There isn't enough information currently for me to vote for it. Would changing fonts be through use of CSS or BBCode? Would it allowed for parts of a document or manuscript versus the whole thing? Would there be a list of accepted fonts like with the current Manuscript editor? Would alternative fonts be allowed and if so, how would it look to add them? Would it be restricted to just the Actual Contents of a Document and Manuscripts, or would changing the font be allowed in all templates?

This would definitively allow for writers to make their stories unique, indicate a unique speaking style for a character, and so on.

@A Beloved Dimensional Horror Why is that a reason to downvote a suggestion? Its a good idea, so support it :)

While this is a good idea, your last sentence makes this suggestion sound very rude and condescending.
