A better way to share articles in the community

New Feature Addition · Access management (subscribers/authors) · Created by UnknownWriter88

Other than community challenges and daily features there is few options for sharing our articles with other users. I want to ask WA to consider adding more ways for everyone to share/like or comment on each other's works.

Follow up

Most people who are not well-known tend to have their articles fall unnoticed and ignored.
Something similar to the 'notify follower' tab but for the community

We need a better way for WA users to get their articles seen, period.   Also, Someone below suggested using Anvil coins and making a community post for 500 coins. The issue is...This feature is only really useful for Grandmasters and above. With the rate I receive coins, I can make a community post once a week. Deities can do it almost once per day. A Journeyman can expect to make a community post every 17 days, and a freeman needs 500 days. That's just not a good method for sharing your articles with the whole community if you are a newer or lesser known user. And if the cost was made cheaper and more community posts were made...yeah, the issue is those posts disappear in about a day already, if the post rate were doubled, they would only be visible for about six hours. Not a good suggestion in my opinion.

Like others said, this is not a solid suggestion. I do understand that it is frustrating as a smaller user on the platform and it might feel overwhelming to look at articles in the best of section that have hundreds of likes while own works have none to few, BUT...   You can - as others have stated - collect your coins and make a newspost to the entire community where you can list a few of your works that you would love to get noticed.   Also a good way to get noticed and get feedback, might be to get out there in the community and do what you woul like others to do. Read and comment on other peoples articles. Under Discover - Articles you don't just find the most viewed and liked but also recently featured and - my favorite - recently added. There's a ton of articles of people just like you. Smaller creators who would love to be recognized.   I don't know about you or the rest of the community, but I am a curious bean. Someone likes one of my articles or comments on one, I go snoop a bit to see what kind of worlds they create and what their articles are like.

While I do agree that having an easier way to browse articles and discover new worlds would be nice (which is something that has been asked many times and is already under consideration if I am correct), I do not think this "suggestion" is very useful.   There are already many different ways for you to share your work- the WA subreddit, the discord server, twitter, or even the global journal feed. There are even helpful guides on how to get your work out there.   The easiest way to get your work known to other people, frankly, is to interact with other's work yourself. Most of the "popular" writers are writers that try to be active in the community- reading other people's works, commenting, trading feedback, so on, so forth. If you want to write "to be well known", you gotta put the work in.

I don't necessary believe there is a need for better sharing your content, but I do believe that we need a catalogue that allows us to browse and search the worlds and articles of world anvil!

One can also collect coins now and, just as you posted this suggestion, can publish a message that will appear on the homepage for everyone right there in the sidebar called "User Stream". Just head to your profile and under your profile pic, header, and newest articles, you'll see a field that says "What are you up to?" you can type in there for a short message, OR you can click "Make it a journal entry" and that will open another field where you can use bbcode and css to embed article blocks and world blocks and links to things you'd like people to check out. You do have to spend 500 coins if you want to "Post this globally" but that will get it on the homepage for everyone which is what you are asking to do right now. You can also share articles in the discord. God bless and much success in the new year. If you have any other questions, feel free to message me!

This is not a suggestion - you are giving no valuable ideas of how this can be rectified. Also there is a community page
