Allow the ability to add/edit timeline entries on timeline and not always on same page

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

I would like to see a way to have a minimalistic start to the entry available on the main timeline page, then you can go into it and edit it later. Even if it's just Start Date, End Date, and name or something similar. Then, you can go in, tie articles to it, etc. Just something on the timeline page itself, rather than having to open the new page each time. I would also like to, if necessary with this be able to adjust times on the timeline without having to swap back and forth. I feel like it would feel much smoother if it could be done on that same page.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

As it stands, to create entries into the Timeline, you go to create an entry, it takes you to another screen, and then you have to go through the process off of the main screen, save it, and then return to the timeline. currently the only things you can really edit on the main Timeline page is Era abbreviations/names.

What are other uses for this feature request?

I feel like this would allow a swifter process of placing all your dates in a row, then you can go back through and be more specific, rather than the current, in my opinion, much slower process.

This sounds great! I really HATE how you cannot stub articles from the timeline. Normally you can hyperlink to a stub while writing a document. In timelines, you have to make the article before it will work as a hyperlink. Really a flaw.
