Ability to hide the full contents of events seperately from the short summary with Subscriber Groups

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Currently, you can assign Subscriber groups to events - but that includes seeing them on the timeline, the short summary and the full description. So if I want to show my players general info about the event but not everything, I have to work with secrets or duplicate events, which is frustrating because generally people might know world history events with like dates and vague info, but not the full context.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

I would love to be able to hide the full context of events from my players, but leave the knowledge of when said event took place as well as a short summery visible - like when through History class you know the Revolution XY happened in Year ABCD, but you don't necessarily know all the things that went into the revolution happening.

The Team's Response

Hi! Thanks for the suggestion. I see you mention secrets in your explanation, which is exactly what they are designed to do! If you don't want to use secrets, as a Grandmaster you can also use subscriber containers, which in this case are quicker to use than secrets: https://www.worldanvil.com/w/WorldAnvilCodex/a/subscriber-containers Since we have two features that already cover this use case (and the support from the community is very low), we are declining this suggestion.

I know there are workarounds for this, but it would be nice to have an option to Private an event and then change the visibility of events on timelines...   Not sure of the practical aspects of it though.

The easiest way to achieve this currently would be to use subscriber containers, which you can put into the full description field and don't have to use secrets or duplicate events.
