What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Right now, there is no easy way to see what articles you have are submitted for competition/what they are submitted for. Especially with the Spooktober challenge, it is hard to keep track of what challenges you have completed and which you haven't.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

It would add a new subtext under article name in the article viewer, describing what challenges the article is submitted to. This would make it easy to keep track of what you have/haven't done, and make sure you don't forget to submit an article.

What are other uses for this feature request?

It would allow viewers of the world to quickly see which articles are part of challenges they might be interested in, or groups of challenges, such as all Summer Camp articles.

The Team's Response

Thanks for your suggestion! As some users have pointed out, it is already possible to know if an article is submitted to an event by opening that article. It's also possible to see which articles you submitted to a specific event by opening your personal progress page (for example, this is your personal Spooktober progress page: https://www.worldanvil.com/community/challenge/spooktober-2023/homepage/hihi25e).   However, we understand that being able to see all articles you have ever submitted to any event in a single page could useful. The reason we're closing this is due to lack of support, but feel free to suggest it again in the future if you think you will get higher support. As a workaround you can use article tags, which are supported search terms.

I think the way Spooktober was handled was a bit odd, and hard to figure out; ultimately that is why I didn't participate.   I don't think that your solution addresses that, and hashtags/the other ways they've ran competitions have worked well. See the searchable hashtag feature and vote for that, its a good idea.

I agree with Kittymonster and Jacob-W; this can be accomplished with hashtags and the personal challenge pages that are created for challenges already.

I don't see this as a huge problem. I can easily see which articles I've submitted for the which prompts of the Spooktober challenge on my personal competition page for the challenge. Perhaps some improvements could be made, but for me, this isn't a big issue.

Not sure if it's needed?   Most competitions add a submit box in the article edit view right column where it'll say if it's submitted and to what.   Most competitions also have a page to see submitted entries, personal ones as Jacob-W pointed out for larger ones.   All articles submitted to challenges will get a display in the footer on the view side listing the challenge nane, prompt submitted to etc, plus links to challenge pages.   Beyond that, I suggest using tags and/or categories to keep track — I have a dedicated quarantine folder for challenge entries to ensure I dont accidentally edit during judging process, for example.

What is stopping you from using hashtags to achieve this? or adding these articles into a category? Also spooktopber and summercamp, the two examples you name both have personal pages on worldanvil where you can see your own progress. worldanvil.com/community/challenge/spooktober-2023/homepage/<YOUR USER NAME> For the current spooktober challenge.
