Aarakocra

Aarakocra are people of the mountaintops, their flight allowing them to easily traverse the peaks of Avasi’s World’s Roof mountain range. They tend to gather in small flocks, with a patrilineal gerontocracy as the favored structure.
The aarakocra hail originally from the Elemental Plane, specifically the realm of elemental Air, but over time they flew to the high mountains where they now comfortably live. Aarakocra share the sharp eyes of the similar raptors, making them excellent scouts and hunters.
Their minimalist lifestyle and ability to fly also has allowed some aarakocra to excel as monks, and some of the finest monasteries in northern Avasi are aarokocra ones.

Aarakocra tend to be friendly with goliaths, but have little interaction with dwarves. Many humans envy them for their ability to fly.
