Special abilities
Through skin to skin contact with other humans, he can suck out their life energy. A brief touch only takes a very small amount, but the longer he holds on the more life energy he takes and can eventually kill them by taking it all. He has no way to turn it off. His power does not work on animals.

Personal history
Aurel's power of draining life energy manifested at a very young age, and so his parents always avoided touching him and feared him. When Aurel was about six years old, debt collectors from a gang came to get what his parents owed, but since they were unable to pay up, they tried offering Aurel instead as collateral. The debt collectors then killed Aurel's powers, seized whatever they had, and took Aurel as well. The gang they were from then had some sick fun using Aurel's power on people they had captured and were torturing. They even had him kill a few. Aurel was barely fed, kept alive only by using his power because he took people's life energy as his own which would also then heal him and extend his life. When the gang boss finally grew tired of using Aurel after a year, he sent members of his gang to sell Aurel to whoever would pay the most. This is when Cain spotted them, and so he purchased Aurel so some creep wouldn't be able to. Cain then took Aurel to Kasmir because Cain wouldn't have been able to care for a child in his current situation. Aurel then started living with Kasmir, though it took a few years for Aurel to warm up to him.
