Session 24: An Unlikely and Unexpected Romance?

General Summary

The Dragoons woke to a chilly morning and clean air. Their lungs drew in deep the air that was laden with anticipation. The mountain range was hushed, as if awaiting some impending, epic action. The Dragoons knew they had to go to Lund, a city on the water that supposedly was home to another Dragoon.   The left-over meat made for a delicious breakfast of sausage and bacon, a veritable breakfast of champions. With full stomachs and an unfulfilled appetite for adventure, the Dragoons ventured down the mountainside. ‘Cookie’ wished them luck, “Don’t get attacked by monsters!” he shouted after them. The party spoke about the possibilities that may bloom from the anticipated interaction with the prospective Dragoon. What if they were lying about who they were? What if they were telling the truth? How would we know? They decided that when the time came, they would intuit the truth through their blessed Dragon Weapons. Content with this answer, they moved down the mountain silent, with the exception of Bud Towers, the Hero of Our Time, who just realized he could communicate with the sentient Earth Heart.   Whilst traversing an open, rocky landscape Bud Towers, the Hero of Our Time, stepped upon a rock outcropping and heard the low rumble of guttural, feline aggression. Out came six Crag Cats, poised to attack the Dragoons. They encircled Bud Towers, who had yet to release the awesome power of Earth Heart and become his pre-legendary Draconic Form. Fulfilling his role as the immortal wall, Bud Towers, the Hero of Our Time, stood before the ferocious felines and withstood the full furious flurry of furry furor. Raising his hands and summoning the spirits of the wind, Trent called forth wasps to battle the killer kittens. In a brilliant barrage of buzzing, the wasps waded into the warfare, welcomed by the wary heroes.   After a flash of death and destruction, the Krag Kitties were defeated. Trent wisely scouted around in his owl form. Off in the distance Trent saw some flying humanoids. Bud Towers, the Hero of Our Time, decided to yell at them to get their attention. The harpies started flying towards the heroes in hopes of a quick meal.   Trent sent forth his remaining wasps as shock troops to their inevitable death. Before biting it, the wasps did a respectable amount of carnage before being eaten by the harpies. Rath placed his hand upon Bud Towers, the Hero of Our Time, and they both sprouted fiery wings and took to the air. An epic air battle commenced with Bud Towers, the Hero of Our Time, unleashing his halitosis breath, turning one harpy into a frog and another into a statue.   We now take a short break to explain the truly, awe-inspiring story of forbidden love between Bud Towers, the Romeo of Our Time, and a random harpy. Enticed by her…well-rounded personality and magical singing voice, Bud Towers flew slowly towards her with his flaming wings intensifying his fiery desire for her feathered flesh. The harpy howled, the language barrier broken by the beating of their hearts, alluring her young lover to her side. As Bud Towers moved next to the bird woman who would eventually lay his eggs, A MASSIVE SLEET STORM TORE THROUGH THE AREA, FREEZING EVERYTHING! BIRD-SICLES FALLING FROM THE SKY, SHATTERING UPON THE GROUND! His lover fell to the ground, deprived of her happiness. Bud Towers, the Hero of Our Time, woke from a cold shower.   Soon after the remaining harpies were dispatched as Vendra let loose with a mass of sticky webs that brought the bird ladies crashing to the ground. Both Rath and Trent let fly some fiery blasts that pummeled the harpies into unconsciousness. Taking a moment to move the cat and harpy corpses from the path, the Dragoons continued on towards the valley and the continuation of their adventure...
