Session 23: Another Wyrm Lord?

General Summary

We wake up and have breakfast, where not-Ron-Weasley (Markus) was sitting. After a pleasant exchange, we were summoned to the headmaster’s office. Headmaster Vaylin, a prim and proper elf, was standing before us. He informed us that he did not know where the Fire Dragon (blessed be his flames) was, but that someone claiming to be a Wyrm Lord wielding Blasnir’s Flames was to the south in Lund. Some people believed he actually had a fire-breathing dragon. Headmaster Vaylin stated that Vendra will show us the way.   After a hearty discussion about all the possibilities of what the fire-wielder could be; a new member, an impostor, or even Blasnir himself. Even though all of the options were exciting, it was impossible to know without going to Lund to see him. The team decided to walk instead of getting horses. Rath informed Trent that the librarian has scrolls and magic items that he might want to look at, so the team went to the library to shop. On the way out ***Old Hobb asked for baked beans***. The Dragoons walked towards the mountains and onto their destiny! Or death. Not really sure which, or maybe both. Hard to tell when we have no divination wizard. I mean, really. One of the best classes ever made and we just don’t have one. Maybe someone will cross-class into Wiz and take divination so at least we will have some idea as to what is before us. Because honestly we seem to be lost, like, a lot.   There was an eagle screech and a roar. Two large manticores flew overhead. After a quick and decisive battle, Bud Towers lay on top of the last manticore in a precarious position.   Traveling on the party continued on its path to the base of the mountains. Going up the mountainside, Trent and Blu saw a structured building behind the peaks. As they went down the path they were charged by a large pack of boars. They were promptly destroyed, keeping 4 to present to the station when they get there.   They later saw a couple elk or deer chased by wolves. After a quick assessment, they decided not to interfere. They reached the outpost and noticed that there were damages. The heroes began speaking with the person in charge of the gate. The doors were opened and the heroes entered into the outpost.   There are two exits out of the outpost, one to the south and one to the west. The exit to the west is closed off by Rhiyle, the leader of the outpost. The one south is closed because of being overrun with monsters. The one to the west leads to Lund.   After donating smoldering pigs to “Cookie” the chef, the group searched around to find Rhiyle. They found him locked away in a prison in a basement, where he was placed under lock and key by a guard for being drunk. The guard (Martin) mentioned that Rhiyle was sad after breaking up with Ness, the governor’s daughter. Rath convinced Rhiyle to let them go through the west gate in the morning so they might continue on their path.   The next morning…
