Great Shrine of Lumina

The Great Shrine of Lumina is the largest monument to The Goddess on all of Zillarum. It sits atop a towering hill, the shrine's spire reaching higher than even the peaks of the Nerenzah Mountain Range to the south. Around the Great Shrine the floating city of Arcanum slowly orbits, said to be protecting the holy site. To reach the Shrine, one must traverse a winding road up the great hill. Partway up, the road leads to a tunnel, and that tunnel works its way up to the summit. The tunnel's interior is cool and comforting, with sconces spaced evenly up the walls and emitting soft light. Beautifully decorated walls cover the tunnel, with murals telling the history of Zillarum, and that of Azurra, the First World, accompanying travelers as they progress. Once reached, one can behold at the top that the Great Shrine's architecture is truly impressive, with massive columns of beautiful white marble and a statue of The Goddess welcoming weary travelers with open arms. The whole of the area seems to gently glow and the atmosphere is suffused with an aura of serenity and hopefulness. Before reaching the Shrine proper, travelers can hand off their horses to the grooms at the stables, rest at a nearby waystation, or amble through the beautiful forests, hedges, and flower gardens that surround the area. A walkway of polished white stone leads to the Shrine's entrance, flanked by rows of short pillars holding blossoming flowers of every kind and color. More bright flowers line the perimeter as stairs rise to up to the door. Inside, is a splendid shrine, not unlike a great cathedral. The floors are tiled with gorgeous stone, windows are made of immaculate stained glass of many colors, the pillars are lovely and expertly carved, and dozens of stairs covered in white carpets lead to various other levels. It all rises up and stretches out to a dizzying network of stairs, platforms, doors, and similar.
