My Compatible Part 1
Perched on the edge of the bed, blinking at the holo-display that floated in front of her eyes, Havgiha realised that she had never truly expected to be awoken by such a notification. Statistically speaking, above 80% compatibility was rare. Of the billions of individuals residing in Mba Jukfi, Havigha believed it was only a handful of individuals that were found truly compatible.
Actually, she couldn't recall how many were found in the previous cycle. Havgiha certainly had very few in her own personal circle that she could point to having been found compatible recently.
"Tseny, bring up the statistics of compatibility from the last deca-cycle."
The artificial intelligence system that ran her home did so immediately. With a flick of her hand, Havgiha shoved aside the alert that had been delivered earlier this morning to a display embedded into her wardrobe. Standing, she grabbed the holo-display that was now populating with the statistical analysis of the last ten cycles of the highlights of the compatibility report.
There had been one couple found 84% compatible in the previous cycle. She accessed their entry and found that they were now 83% compatible. Two couples had been found 81% compatible in the early cycle. A graph populated showing the fluctuations of both of them over the last cycle. One had dropped below 80% once, dipping to 79% for a handful of days, before returning to hover around the 82% mark. The other had never wavered from their 81% compatibility.
In the previous cycle, only a trio had been found compatible. When all three of them were analysed, their compatibility sat around 87%, statistically rather high, the read-out said. In pairs, they were in the 60s for compatibility. Let's hope one of them didn't die then.
Over a deca-cycle, only 21 pairs or groups had been found compatible, a mean of 2.1 relationships a cycle.
She would now be counted as one of them for this cycle.
Havgiha let the holo-display disappear and moved over to her wardrobe. Her proximity and her intent activated the system, presenting her with a datapad to input her requirements for her attire for the day. The key words she input were 'alluring' and 'formal'. It suggested a pale pink number that Havgiha accepted. A low hum sounded as the system pulled the clothes from storage.
The notification from the Compatibility Report, displayed on the flat edge of the wardrobe, advising her of the particular finding of the Codex that was relevant to her, was simple and to the point. It had calculated 89% compatibility between herself and another individual.
After another query to Tseny, that put her in the top 1% of compatibles.
Intrigued, Havgiha pulled up the profile on her Compatible. A Chy. Of course. The Codex had received new inputs.
"How many compatibilities were announced this morning, Tseny?" Havgiha asked. She was pleased when the answer came quickly. She should review Tseny's outputs to see whether he was anticipating her queries now, or whether his processing was merely fast enough to make up for the lack of independence in the AI. Thinking about pulling up his data, Havgiha nearly missed the answer.
"Nine were found above 80% this morning," Tseny announced, utilising only the speakers immediately by her to answer. She had long since moved on from intelligence systems needing to announce to the whole building their conversations.
Intriguing.
"Send for him," Havgiha said. It was time to meet her Compatible.
I like a lot of the information here - really straight to the point. Feels telling for Havgiha. I'm curious about the A Chy. Of course. I think I have a pretty good idea, just because I have so much background knowledge. Is nice to get a bit with just her though. ^^
Yush - will come out as the story is told. But Havgiha also knows a little bit more than most cause she's friendly with a dude who is "friendly" with the codex nerd who is behind the species additions.
Knows a guy who knows a guy? :3
