Mons Selunis

The lone peak in the center of Araxis that Zeon City is built into the side of.   The mountain is called Mons Selunis for its crescent shape, and it is believed that the goddess Selune shaped it and lives at its peak.   Whenever the ruling emperor dies and their heir must be crowned, the coronation takes place at an amphitheater built near the mountain's peak.

Geography

A mountain with a singular peak. The mountain's base forms a crescent shape.   Mons Selunis is absolutely massive, with the base of the mountain dwarfing the otherwise-metropolitan Zeon City.

Fauna & Flora

Deciduous trees (that haven't been cut down for Zeon City to expand) grow around its base. Other than that, the mountain itself is barren, as mountains tend to be.   The cave systems underneath the mountain hold many fauna, as the creatures and monsters within the cave systems have been allowed to grow in size and strength unchecked due to the forbidding of tampering with the mountain.

Natural Resources

The resources present in Mons Selunis are unknown, as it is considered sacred religious land, and excavation of or otherwise tampering with the untouched status of the mountain is forbidden.   There are several large, natural cave systems underneath the mountains with entrances laid into the base, and exploration of these caves is technically legal, but it is both frowned upon and dangerous.   There is a small criminal market for expeditions to retrieve natural resources found within the caves, as the ores and stones retrieved from the mountain can be sold to faithful citizens as religious relics of Selune.
