70. Celebration Preparations

General Summary

In the last few days before the celebration, the adventurers paddressed their various endeavors to curry favor with some of the Noble Houses in Eryll Tahl’Rei. Jester, Sorrow, and Varris reported to the estate of House Virdel. After Lord Lidaeron Cairm an Virdel warned Varris of the thome’s defenses, the rogue immediately revealed the truth about the party’s relation to Albern and their intentions in the city. The revelations seemingly shocked the nobleman, though Lord Lidaeron Cairm an Virdel recovered enough to promise aid to the party. Specifically, he offered to allow a few to pose as members of the mage guard to gain swift entrance to the Verdant Keep as well as an audience with the Sovereign.

At another part of the city, Kent had taken Vanta, Davie Tinkermattan, and Xandran to a training ground to practice their routine. For the most part, Kent succeeded in coordinating their performance practice. As they wrapped up their routine, the lord of the Noble House Helain appeared at the training ground, John Aeder an Helain. He spoke with Kent regarding their practice before securing their place as a performance at the Verdant Keep. Following the noble lord’s instructions, Kent retrieved two brooches from House Helain’s estate the following day which would allow the use of certain magics within the Verdant Keep.

The day prior to the Celebration, Kent and Varris also scouted out the home of the Nevereannea family. After picking up on certain clues, the two infiltrated the abode, finding it mostly abandoned. They retrieved a few items of note though found no direct signs of the affluent family. Kent and Varris then returned with their findings to the Gilded Daffalia.
