Inra Stone

Inra Stone is a broad shouldered woman, standing about seven feet tall. Her medium length brown hair is usually tied back into a tight ponytail. Her pale green eyes bear a constant unwavering gaze that seems to pierce at ones very soul. While on shift, she is usually clad in full plate mail armor. Minor decorations accent the breastplate, but beyond that, it is very basic in design. Clipped to her back is a massive greatsword, nearly as tall as she is, the handle reaching up past her head.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

  • Her birth parents were killed by bandits while traveling through the western Anterak Woods.
  • Jethron Stone, a Dwarf, happened to be passing by and found the carts a blaze.
  • He could hear a baby crying and rescued her from the blaze.
  • He took her with him back to Stoneforge and presented the idea of raising her as their own to his wife Dorna
  • They requested permission from the Dwarven Council to raise her, and were granted their request. However, as she was not a Dwarf, she would not freely receive the caste training normally given.
  • Despite Ragnoshir's objections to the idea, Jethron and Dorna raised her as their own, giving her the name "Inra"
  • Inra grew quickly, outgrowing her adoptive parents by the age of 6.
  • As she grew, Ragnoshir's view of her changed and he grew to be quite fond of the human child.
  • Due to being human, schooling was rough and she was often bullied by the other Dwarves.
  • When Ragnoshir learned of this, he took it upon himself to train her how to defend herself.
  • She learned quickly and displayed a high level of reactive capabilities.
  • At the age of 17, she applied to join the Dwarven Guard, but was turned down.
  • She continued applying each year, and at the age of 20, her application was finally accepted.
  • Despite being human, she became well respected as a "True Dwarven Warrior" among the guard.
  • She progressed through the ranks, eventually becoming a battalion leader in the Stoneforge Elite Guard.
  • At the age of 30, she retired from the Stoneforge Guard, deciding it was time to set out and make her place in the world.
  • While saddened to see her go, she left with the blessings of her family and her battalion.
  • Before leaving, she was given a large, magically imbued, greatsword by Ragnoshir which she named "Ragnoshir's Radiance" (To which he scolded her teasingly for choosing such a sappy name for a sword)
  • After venturing for a year, she chose to settle down in Amanodel and took a position as a guard.
  • Recognizing her abilities, she was soon promoted to be guard captain of the Lower Districts
  • On several occasions she has been offered positions within the upper districts, but she has turned them down as she feels she "can do more good where she is."

Education

Her formal education, mostly paid for by Ragnoshir, only included basics of reading, writing, math, and history, as, with her being human, she was not entitled to the formal training provided by the caste system. Ragnoshir, having taken militaristic training during his younger years, chose to train her to defend herself, which she rapidly grew to be very proficient in.   When she joined the guard, she received some basic training, most of which had already been taught by Ragnoshir, which was expanded on as she rose through the ranks.
