Ikanave Grasslands

The Ikanave Grasslands makes up the majority of western Kioterra. Nestled between the forests of Czevik and the Anterak Mountains, the grasslands stretch from the southern tip up to the northern coast. The region Consists primarily of field after field of gently rolling hills and farmland. The majority of the land is divided up into smaller farming communities, usually a few hundred people or less each, which work the farms, tend to the land, and manage the animals.   Water Elementals are a very frequent sight within the Ikanave Grasslands, many having been summoned over a thousand years prior. They were bound to wells and irrigation channels. While those who summoned them are long since dead, the water elementals continue their service without hesitation.

Imports and Exports

  • The primary crops are rice, corn, yams, and millet. Other notable crops include carrots, peas, and potatoes.
  • Primary livestock include cattle, horses, sheep, and pigs.
  • Aside from crops and livestock, their other major export is wool.

  • Primary imports include metal, tools, and stone, almost all of which is imported from Stoneforge.
  • Wood is procured from the forests of Czevik or the Anterak Woods

Major Settlements

Within the Ikanave Grasslands, there are two major settlements, both of which act as centralized locations for trade, both imports and exports.
  • In the center is Pahk, located at the split of the Pahkel river. It receives most of the goods shipped down from the Anterak Mountains, which are then distributed out across the grasslands.
  • At the northern most coast is the port city of Gethra. The majority of the goods shipped in and out of Gethra go to either Amanodel or to the country of Elrosh.

Major Landmarks

  • There are 3 major lakes within the region. Caruvel lake to the north, Lake Pasitasha south of Pahk, and Tsitoshen further south.
  • Near the southern end of the grasslands there is a large swamp-like marsh known as Blackwood Marsh. People have attempted to settle in the area before but, while the ground is fertile, it is not suitable for growing most crops. In addition, those trying to settle in the area are often aggressively forced out by the local wildlife and other indigenous races.
