Perrinshire

Perrinshire is a hard land in comparison to the rest of the Oleron Empire. Its land is rough and hilly, making farming difficult, and its lack of a port means food isn't abundant, unless your diet consists of minerals. Along its mountain ranges are many mines. Most of the average populace has worked the mines, or has an immediately family member who has. Structures in Perrinshire are primarily made of stone from these mines. Many renowned blacksmiths come to its capital to work with the metals found in the mines. Ruled by Duke Belvor Perrin, Perrinshire claimed independance at the start of the Oleron Civil War. Belvor is a hard, uncaring man who claimed right to rule through his nephew, who is believed to be a bastard child of the Emperor. While the region primarily focused on shoring up its defences and waiting out the war, it does occasionally launch small raids into the other nearby territories.

Geography

Perrinshire is almost entirely separated from the rest of Oleron by a long stretch of mountains. Its south side is exposed to Albushire through a large forest. Along the mountains there is a pass to the east that allows passage into Brandrshire, and another to the north into Filkorshire. It also benefits from a river that seems to start from a mountain spring.

Natural Resources

Since Perrinshire rests along such a long stretch of mountains their primary resources come from there. They have a large number of mines throughout, bringing in stone and ore. The forests to the south also supply a good amount of wood. However their land isn't as fertile as they would hope and without a port, they do not have a consistent source of sea food.
