Filkorshire
At first glance, Filkorshire might seem like the weakest region of the Oleron Empire. They have the lowest population, and are the least developed. However, due in part to the leadership of Grand Duke Filkor, the Empire's previous Minister of Commerce, the region has been able to thrive. Instead of competing with their neighbors to the south for minerals, they began to grow crops specifically for trade.
Filkorshire does a large amount of trade with Brisaides to the west. The luxiurious products created by their farms are traded for necessary goods to maintain the region. These markets have drawn merchants from around the world creating a strong economy. To avoid the threat of invasion, after the civil war Markus Jewelknife Filkor began stockpiling food in the castle on their southern border and formed a defensive pact with Brisaides.
Geography
Filkorshire has the least amount of inhabitable land in all of the Oleron Empire. Large areas of the region are covered by mountains, as well as a large lake that is formed off of a river flowing through to Mertinshire. Between its lake, and the mountain range lies a dense forest.
Natural Resources
Filkorshire does not have easy access to its forests to supply wood, nor does it have many mines within its mountains to gather ores and stone. However, due to the lake, they have developed irrigation systems allowing them to grow valuable crops such as herbs, spices, and various plants used to create pigments and dyes.
