Zaldebrash City
Once a totalitarian police state that unjustly persecuted many people, Zaldebrash City has reformed since the end of the Civil Rights Movement, leading to it becoming a democratic government where everyone gets a voice instead of only the few.
Demographics
Zaldebrash City is a diverse city, with people from all over the world and from all walks of life. The majority of the population is middle class or lower class.
As far as species go, if you can think of it, it is here. Sphinxes, dragons, ettins, humans, elves, ghouls, giants, gnomes, orcs, treants, trolls, unicorns, and many more species can be found within Zaldebrash City.
Zaldebrash City also has a wide variety of ethnicities. Zaldebrash City welcomes people from Tianadar, Aladar, Zahenni, Seion, Hissatla, and many other places with open arms, not to mention native populations.
Government
Zaldebrash City is run by a democratically elected council of 100 councilors, who make and interpret the laws. Meanwhile, the significantly weakened police enforce the laws, while numerous charity organisations and religious orders help those who break said laws reform.
Infrastructure
Zaldebrash City has a well-developed sewer system, busy ports and shipyards, bustling and colourful streets, and efficient recycling systems that help magically transmute waste into useful materials.
Districts
Zaldebrash has numerous districts, including the Turtle District (responsible for housing), the Lion District (responsible for governance), the Dragon District (responsible for commerce), and the Bear District (responsible for security).
A subset of the Dragon District has come to be known as the Thunder District, due to the notable presence of Thundercorp-owned businesses and buildings there.
Guilds and Factions
Megacorporations, which include Thundercorp, Golden Opportunity Banking Company, and Silver Road Banking Company, seem to sink their claws into the city more each day, exploiting the good people of the city down to the last drop of sweat and the last penny.
However, they are not the only factions in the city. Many religious organisations and charity organisations seek to make the city better.
Deep within the city, far from the eyes of the boys in pink and purple, freedom fighters, rebellions, and even crime rings plot to subvert the megacorporations at every turn, so that the city can truly remain free.
Points of interest
Countless points of interest exist in Zaldebrash City, but a few include the One-Eyed Bard, Thundercorp Headquarters, Electrifying Taste, Bogwarts University, Thundercorp Community College, Wartsbog Shopping Mall, and Marquis Gaston Jean-Paul du Chat's Grande Theatre, which I will go over in greater detail in later articles, as each one deserves its own detailed description.
Architecture
The architecture of Zaldebrash City is bright and colourful, with materials like marble and dyed fabrics commonly used.
Geography
Zaldebrash City is on the east coast of the continent, with many ports and shipyards out by the vast ocean.
Climate
Zaldebrash City's climate is as standard as the weather in Zaldebrash can be, although some magical meddling from Bogwarts University does help the climate of the whole city be more pleasant. During the spring, a light but pleasant drizzle occurs within the city every so often, and flowers bloom beautifully. The summers are warm but not too hot to bear, with the air punctuated by gentle cool breezes. During the fall, a pleasant chill falls over the whole city, the kind that makes you want to curl up by a fireplace with a mug of hot cocoa. During winter, large and beautiful snowflakes fall, but as long as you make sure to dress appropriately, the cold won't cause you any discomfort.
