Cult of the Dragon Queen

Structure

The cult primarily worships Tiana, the goddess of evil dragons and volcanoes. She is at the top of the hierarchy. Her duties are to do as she sees fit.   Next in the hierarchy are her consorts, who are all red dragons. Their duties are to serve Tiana and placate her desires.   Next in the hierarchy are all other red dragons in Tianadar. Their duties are to protect Tiana's consorts.   Beneath the red dragons are the dragon-priests. Their duties are to act as the mouthpieces of the red dragons for their non-dragon followers.   Beneath the dragon-priests are the scaleguards, who are the military arm of the cult. Their duties are to protect those who rank above them and to destroy those of Tiana's enemies that are too insignificant to be worthy of a dragon's attention.   Beneath the scaleguards are the cultists. Their duties are to worship Tiana and follow the orders of the dragon-priests.

Culture

The cult teaches the following tenets:
  • Ambition. Never settle for what you have, and always strive for more.
  • Dedication. The only moral compass worth having is the one that asks "What would Tiana do?"
  • Fear. Fear Tiana and her dragonbrood, for they are awesome and terrible.

Public Agenda

The cult's public agenda is to serve Tiana.

Assets

The cult has access to clerical and draconic magic as well as weapons, armour, and multiple temples all over Tianadar.

History

The Cult of the Dragon Queen has existed for as long as Tiana has existed, for there has always been people who have served her out of fear of her wrath.

Mythology & Lore

The Cult of the Dragon Queen believes that once all of Zaldebrash was under Tiana's reign. However, she was deceived by Nedith and tricked into having her area of influence reduced to Tianadar.

Divine Origins

The Cult of the Dragon Queen originates from Tianadar, where desperate peoples sought a solution to their predicament beyond sacrificing themselves to the volcanoes. It was then that Tiana herself landed before them, amused, and gave them an ultimatum: "Serve me and sacrifice others in my name, and you will be spared. Reject me, and your blackened bones will be forgotten in the dust in which you now stand."   These desperate peoples accepted, becoming the first cultists of the Dragon Queen.

Worship

The cult regularly captures travelers and ritually sacrifices them by throwing them into volcanoes.

Granted Divine Powers

The dragon-priests can draw from the domains of Death, Light, and Tempest. Those dragon-priests that prove their complete and total loyalty to Tiana are granted a powerful boon, becoming half-red dragons and draconic sorcerers of the red ancestry.
