Personal history

Degrade grew up in a modest household, working in the harsh mines of Heartharin. His family originally came here from Anadare, so he often felt as an outsider, and was not accustomed to the colder climate. One day, however, as he was shivering in the cold caverns, he heard metal slam against metal. Each hit sent a feeling of warmth through his body, he quickly began to follow the sound, the closer he got, the more warmth he felt. Eventually he hit a dead end, he grabbed his pick and began to dig his way through. Eventually, he broke through. He had dug his way directly into the chamber of the Obsidian Forge. There he saw a man clad in armor, with a large hammer in his hands, slamming the sigil in front of the pillar. He had a look of desperation, his armor looked battle worn and his face cut and bloody. Degrand could do nothing but watch, his body frozen. He snapped out of his trance when some servants of the forge came when they heard the noise, and Degrand found that he had been slamming the sigil the whole time. From that day on, he has served The Forge Lord.

Education

His education came from the Warden of the Forge before him, and his parents. He traveled most of his young life so he learned from the world.

Employment

He worked as a miner in the mines of Heartharin for many years, and eventually joined the Obsidian Forge. He now works as the Keeper of the Forge.

Accomplishments & Achievements

For many years the religious temples of Heartharin did not allow outsiders, an exception was made for the young degrand, and as soon as he became the keeper, he made sure that any and all who wish to follow The Forge Lord would be welcome.

Failures & Embarrassments

His rise to power was a controversial one. He was not born in the holy lands, he barely knew the customs of the land, so many believed him to be unfit for the position of Keeper. Nearly every decision he made was met with ridicule and questions. Not much got done in his first year, and a divide between those of the faith was born.

Mental Trauma

Due to the nature of his early life, he has little in the way of empathy. He is a being of survival, and has been know to take little stock in the concerns and desires of his comrades.

He is extremely logical, and isn’t know for his artistic qualities.
