Temple of Heironeous, Duvik's Pass
Near the Western Gate of the town of Duvik's Pass sits the relatively newly-erected Temple of Heironeous. Though usually a place of military training in accordance with the worship of its patron god, its mess and large common areas were both used to create a makeshift hospital during the disastrous four months of the The Burning Plague which recently ravaged the community.
Purpose / Function
Like most temples to the War Aspect god, this temple is both a place of worship as well as a military installation of sorts. Because the Pass Militia is made up of volunteers from the three remaining towns in the sovereign state of Duvik's Pass, Father Samual supplements the militia with acolytes and members of the Blessed who train there. To that end, the temple is situated by the Duvik's Pass West Gate, where it provides battlements on its tower which overlooks the wall to the west. It also shares training grounds with the main installation for the Pass Militia.
Alterations
During the four-month-long bout with the Burning Plague, Father Samual was resolved to turn his chapel into a hospital. After the demise of the local cleric of Pelor, Samual set upon turning his place of worship and training into a place of healing. The kitchen and mess area, as well as the large common area, were cleared out. Cots were lined up wall to wall and soon filled to accommodate first the sick miners, and then the rest of the town who became ill with the fast-spreading disease.
History
The sanctuary was established by "Father" Samual Silversun , who as a newly minted cleric of Heironeous, sought to be a help to the community after years of war with the Orcs in the area had left it
