Spirit Orb Myth in Yonderverse | World Anvil

Spirit Orb

Spirit orbs are small mythical creatures that are a personification of the things around them. They are commonly associated with magic, and have a history linked with mages and other supernatural races that goes back thousands, if not millions of years. There are infinite types of spirit orbs, that are always based on the things they find most pleasing to look at. You name it, there is a spirit orb based on that thing. Legends say that the spirit orbs were created by Aavar, God of Gods, however the reason for this is unknown.

Elemental Spirit Orbs

Elemental spirit orbs were the first spirit orbs to be created by Aavar. These spirit orbs were based on the 4 powers of the Yonderverse; water, electricity, earth and fire. These 4 make up the quadrant of spirit orbs, the 4 most powerful and most famous. They are said to live in colonies on the 4 corners of Greenerth, that is, if Greenerth had corners. The Fire nymphs rest in the Hell Zone, the Water nymphs rest in the Grand Abyss, the Earth nymphs rest in Sarra Desert, and the Lightning nymphs rest in Lightman's Peak.

Fire Nymph

Fire nymphs are the smallest of the elemental spirit orbs, about 1cm in diameter. When they float about, they leave a trail of ashes and fire. They have two small yellow eyes dotted on their face.

Water Nymph

Water nymphs are about 1.2cm in diameter, the second smallest elemental spirit orb. They have bright orange eyes, and when on land they leave a trail of water and splashes.

Earth Nymph

Earth nymphs are the second largest elemental spirit orb, at 1.8cm in diameter. They have black eyes, and their body is covered in a coat of rock. The rock exterior is cracked, and a mysterious purple liquid leaks from them.

Lightning Nymph

Lightning nymphs are the largest elemental spirit orb, 2cm in diameter. They are also the largest spirit orb. They have black eyes, and seem to be just a ball of light with sparks occasionally flying from them.
