Nomads of Jupiter's Edge
Very few people live on Jupiter's outskirts in comparison to the planet's depths, but still, millions of nomads wander Jupiter's Edge. Life may be difficult on the outermost parts of Jupiter, but these nomads have existed for thousands of years and they remain proud of their traditions.
Jovian nomads are well known for their ability to use any and all resources they are given. Some of their practices, cultural cuisines, and beliefs have become synonymous with the planet, such as sprite tea, a beverage drank by almost every first-time tourist to the planet.
Entering Jupiter's Atmosphere
Respiration
Jovians, and the creatures they ride and call home, can survive in the outer atmosphere of Jupiter. They have incredibly powerful respiratory systems that allow them to cope with the limited supply of oxygen. It is customary for a spacecraft entering Jupiter's atmosphere to be initially stopped by a group of nomads. While a large group of hooded behemoths riding even larger winged creatures may seem intimidating at first, nomads pride themselves on welcoming all tourists with friendly food and friendly faces.
If one doesn't want to be stopped by a group of nomads when entering the atmosphere, put weapons on display. Most people are sensible and will avoid an actively armed spacecraft. Nomads have a bad reputation with passerby's of Jupiter, many assuming these people are exploitative and violent, but this could not be farther from the truth.
Clothing & Apparel
Nomadic clothing differs wildly depending on the general region of the planet. With jupiter being so large, most nomads stick to specific regions, or belts, of Jupiter.
There are sixteen major belts of Jupiter, each with slightly varied climates. Chosen clothing and apparel is an individual stylistic choice, but most wear clothes associated with their home belt.
Nomads around equatorial belts often wear less, light-coloured clothing. Bedazzled ribbons tied to the tail and horns are common, as well as elegant waist and legwear.
Pets and carriage animals wear clothing identical to the owner. Many of these animals have different vision to jovians, and can have colour preferences that influence what they wear.
Language & Dialects
With how expansive Jupiter is, and how nomads can be found across the entire globe, hundreds of languages and over a million dialects are spoken. Given how nomad groups often cross paths, and individuals may join new groups, languages and dialects mix, birthing new ones. Nomadic languages are typically variants of common languages across Jupiter, but different enough that they can be recognised as a nomadic language.
