Drufenis
Drufenis is a country in the Frost lands region. Population 950,000. It is made of frost plains and boreal forests. It shares a border with Kaltia and Zuizraca, the only other two countries in the continent. Drufenis' capital city is Fenris, population 85,500, only 9% of the country's population.
History
Origin
Drufenis was originally part of Kaltia before it split off and became an official country. The city of Fenris was Kaltia's capital before the government decided to announce that the city would separate and form its own country, for reasons never publicly declared. In secret, he was having an affair with his wife, who ruled a separate state of Kaltia and when she found out she divorced him, and to get revenge he split the country into two. The country would be named Drufenis, a spin on the city of Fenris. The country was formed in the year 1204.Kaltia-Drufenis War
In 1540, The Kaltia-Drufenis war kicked off, due to Drufenis attempting to expand their reign. All of their settlements were overflowing with people, and due to an unexplained urbanisation and arrival of immigrants, the country couldn't cope. So, they decided to attack Kaltia, and take over the entire country, since most of their land wasn't really being used. Unexpectedly, Drufenis lost the war, and was faced with a large debt, which they were still recovering from until the 1800s. This damaged the relations between the two countries.Drufenizraca
After the war between Orrios and Zuizraca, two other countries in the Frost Lands, the continent split into two. Kaltia and Orrios joined sides, forming Kaltorrios, and Drufenis and Zuizraca formed Drufenizraca. Drufenizraca was formed in 1602, 3 years after the ending of the White Sea War when Orrios defeated Zuizraca with a secret fleet of high-tech submarines.Demography and Population
Drufenis consists of only 7 cities and settlements, most of which are located in central and east Drufenis. The cities have an relatively even population, the biggest city in Drufenis has a population of 97,000, only 13 thousand above the smallest city.
Foreign Relations
Drufenis has had terrible relations with Kaltia. Since its splitting, the countries have been at war for a total of 71 years, over 5 different major wars and battles. Almost 200 years after the The Kaltia-Drufenis War that damaged relations, Kaltia initiated a peace treaty. After a year of consideration, Drufenis signed the peace treaty. Several trade routes were set up between the two countries, which proved very beneficial.
