The Temple of Phusdite, The Goddess of Winter.

The temple of Phusdite was created by her worshipers, the Katyushans, in the year 100. It was created after the growth of the Blue Spruce, a spruce tree that had a blue tint to its leaves and bark (refer to the Blue Spruce manual for more information). The goddess was pleased with the colors of the tree. She then ordered the Katyushan king, King Blackstone, to create a temple around the tree for its worshipers, also to have the surrounding city become the capital of a great nation. After the temple was built, a war between the Smog and Katyushans broke out, causing the building of the surrounding city to be postponed. The goddess was patient, but after the war ended, the building did not resume on the temple or the surrounding town. She punished the new king and his subjects by creating: The Frost, a giant storm that would sweep across Katyusha killing everything except for Katyusha natives who still worshiped her (refer to The Frost manual for more information). Soon the loyal people of Katyusha finished the temple to try and appease the goddess. She was calmed for a short time and waited for the city to be built around the temple. However, it never happened. So she cursed the land with The Frost until her city was built. She went into hiding as a new Citadel was built at the entrance of the nation, instead of at her temple in the center of Katyusha. Her devoted followers still search for her today. In the end, a small town was built around her temple and is where her followers call home. Note: most of her followers hate Non-Katyushans and will automatically be suspicious to them and force them away, granted they will not attack on site unless provoked.

Purpose / Function

In this places campaign, you can have your group go on a massive hunt to find Phusdite and convince her to rid the land of The Frost. Her temple is the second most visited place in Katyusha, granted very far behind in that sense, and has been known to all as the birthplace of The Frost. Your players can go there and make multiple errors and possible successes to find themselves in the throne room of Phusdite herself and in that room they will find there first clue as to where she is.
The Temple's original purpose was to please the goddess and save Katyusha from her rath. in the modern times of Katyusha it is a place of worship of her still but outside the temple, there is a small trading area where the worshipers sell sacred artifacts and other objects they had collected on their search for there goddess.

Design

there are sixteen rooms, all of them except for the tree room is made out of cobblestone (each cobblestone has a unique engraving on it) the tree room is made out of a dyed blue marble. All the rooms of the place are in different shapes except in the temples winding catacombs, in the catacombs, there is supposedly no time, place, or life and everything expect her followers are still in absolute silence, not even footsteps are heard in the catacombs of her great temple.

Entries

There are multiple entrances in and out of the main building and the catacombs, the only rooms unlocked are the catacombs and the rooms of worship in her temple ( about ten rooms are for worship in the main temple and there is an unknown number of rooms in the catacombs), there are windows in most of the rooms and the tree room has a glass roof and a spiral of windows going up the walls of blue marble all of them are tinted blue

Sensory & Appearance

All of the rooms in the temple are cold but they all carry a warm feeling other than the strange emptiness there, yet also in all of the rooms, there is a tune that only her followers can hear ( for more info on the tune go to The song of Phusdite) All of her followers hum along to the tune as they walk through the building. In the catacombs, people are known to go mad because of the quietness and the absolute silence there, most people, when they enter the catacombs, feel like they are being watched over by someone but they do not know who. most of them claim that it is Phusdite watching over all of the people who enter the rooms.

Denizens

The only people and things that can be found in the main temple are Phusdites followers and their familiars. it is too cold for any other animals, insects, fish, etc. in the temple, also there is little to no dust there surprisingly. In the catacombs, there are mostly lost souls, skeletons, and foulsons (the undead according to the followers of Phusdites) they all are mostly dormant and peaceful as if they are waiting for something. the Phesditeties say that they are waiting for the end of the world so they can finally be free from there mortal bodies fully, granted they have attacked a few people who mess with them.

Contents & Furnishings

there are mostly wooden benches in all the rooms along with carpets and floor pillows for people to pray, sleep, and think on. All the rooms have a small table in them with a candle sitting on it, it always looks like a brand new candle almost as if it never melts and the wick never burns. In the catacombs, there are empty and filled beds along with a small table with a candle plate and wax sitting at the bottom of it.

Valuables

there is a roomer that there is a giant room in the very bottom of the catacomb that holds multiple statues of Phusdite created out of gold and other precious metals along with a stash of sapphires, other gems, silver, her sword: The Alike, and her crown created from pure silver.

Hazards & Traps

there are no traps in the temple or catacombs.

Special Properties

Under the entire temple and catacombs, there is a field that slows or stops time almost completely. Also, there is a tune that can only be heard by the followers of Phusdite.

Alterations

Near the top of the building, there is a noticeable change in the color of the stone used, the stones changed because the new war had started and so the construction had to stop and when it started again they had to use a different type of stone because the stone coming from there quarry had been used up during the war.

Architecture

The Temple is built upon a hill just before the Alpaca mountain range, its as tall main tower is as big as a small mountain, on the sides of the building there are large arches that create almost bunker-like areas that slowly go underground. the arches have half arches sprouting off of them and the top of the arches are flat, on top of the arches are statues of the Goddess Phusdite. In the middle of the temple, there is a blue spruce tree that stands about half the height of the building and it has a cobbled path surrounding it, it has flowers around it all colored blue, white, and purple. Around the temple is a small town most of its houses are made out of spruce trees and small dugouts in the hillside, in the town there is a marketplace that is comprised of one tavern, six tent structures, and three dugouts.

She later went into hiding as a new Cididal was built at the entrance of the nation instead of at her temple in the center of Katyusha. Her devoted followers still search for her till this day and a small, extremely small, town was built around her temple and that is where most of her followers call home to this day. Also near the temple is a marketplace that her followers built.
