The Wading Forest

The Wading Forest is a bog like woodland off the shore of Sunken Khat. When the city and it's surroundings were drowned, the forest of Khat was mostly taken with it. What now remains is known a the Wading Forest as the ground is soft and peaty and gives way to deep swamps and hidden ponds. A disorienting fog forever pervades the centre of the forest, some say as a manifestation of the flood ever rising.
Rumours suggest that if you take one too many left turns in the fog you'll come across an ink black pool that feeds on your memories, and people who travel there come back with fewer companions than they went in with. Others believe a serial killer named Gary Ott lives in the woods and strangles travellers to death before eating their brains. All in all, this is not a wood much travelled, and certainly not by locals.
