Great Xivenyu Empire (Common Tinjongnian: ɑberzɪvɜnijɑ)
The Great Xivenyu Empire was a feudal Vaintorum formed from a confederation of states by Xiiv the Great in the 15th century AY during the high medieval period of Tytheria. Since its creation, it has rivaled Tihja and its successor, Tinjongnia. Its influence was heavily reduced in the 16th century from the First and Second Tinjongnian-Xivenyu Wars. It was ultimately destroyed in 1618 after the Third Tinjongnian Xivenyu War during the reign of Xiiv III.
History
Origin
The Xivenyu originally came from numerous small territories in the far northern reaches of Tytheria, reaching into what is now modern-day Vinetia. They are ethnically Tins but share more in common culturally with their northern neighbors, the Vinetians. The Zinxa Kingdom was established in the 13th century by Vorn Avar and in the 14th century Ermator Avar united the rest of the northern territories under his rule as Vaint. Ernator stretched the boundaries of Xivenyu territory, conquering all of the territory around the (Xivneyu) Lake. After he died in 1390, his son Xiiv took over and in 1427, established the Great Xivenyu Empire.Conflicts with Tinjongnia
Vaint Renid VI of Tihja briefly fought against his successor, Vaintor Xiiv II in the 1460s. Tinjongnian Vaintoreks Vicyli I did not seek war with Xivenyu Vaintors Erek I or Anrad I during his reign even though Xivenyu had been weakened at the time, fearing a possible Xivenyu-funded Zivian rebellion and takeover. Anrad I and Vicyli I did have a small conflict over the sovereignty of Sava. After Vicyli I died and Vicyli II took over, Xivenyu and Tinjongnia would be at war in the First Tinjongnian-Xivenyu War in 1526 after Xivenyu invaded Tolu-Demer, a strong Tinjongnian ally. Despite the death of Vicyli II from disease in the war, Tinjongnia would come out victorious, humiliating Xivenya as well as Kinjin, a Xivenyu vassal. In 1567, Vaintor Voel I, launches attacks on Tolu-Demer over the sovereignty of Kinjin, pulling Tinjongnia into the war, swiftly turning the tides in favor of Tolu-Demer, leading to Xivenya's second defeat in 1569. Voel I would die in 1570 as a result of infected wounds, leaving Anrad II to take over, ushering in a short peactime between Xivenya and Tinjongnia. But, after Anrad II dies in 1605, Xiiv III becomes Vaintor and begins plotting his revenge on Tinjongnia. The Last War
In late 1616, Xivenyu forces secretly invade Tinjongnia, targeting settlements in northwestern Zivia that are keeping and breeding Zivian Sasks, successfully killing thousands within the span of several weeks, triggering Tinjongnian Vaintoreks Thejari I to declare war on Xivenya in early 1617 and begin mass mobilization. Xiiv III's original plan was to deminish the population of eligible sertonsasks (war-sasks) to give Xivenya an advantage. But, Xiiv had been unaware of Thejari's preparations. On the battlefield, heavy cannons were introduced on battlefield for the first time, causing mass casualties among Xivenyu forces. When Thejari and his main army reached Zivandeya in 1618, they heavily damaged the city's defenses, leading to the city surrendering while Xiiv III was still inside. Xiiv III had sent his family, including Voel II, the heir, north long before Thejari's forces reach Zivandeya. After Xiiv III was captured by Thejaran forces, he was tried immediately and executed by poisoning later in 1618. The Xivenyu Vaintor was dead and Voel II did not take power as he and his family attempted to flee to Vinetia, but were caught by Andalbeura Zilya's imperial forces, aided by the Andalisko. Many significant members of the Avar family were taken back to Zivandeya where they were all tried and convicted in 1619. Voel II, his mother, aunt, and cousin were executed by poisoning, the verdict being that they had conspired with Xiiv III in the invasion of Tinjongnia and slaughter of Zivian Sasks. The other family members would be imprisioned. The Sasks genocide was more important in determining their fates than the invasion of Tinjongnia since Zivian sasks were most respected by Tinjongnians.Famine and End
The result of the Last Tinjongnian-Xivenyu War left Xivenya split by Suebu, Tinjongnia, and Vinetia. Former powerful warlords in Xivenya could not manage their lands any longer as society broke down due to degraded infrastructure and supplies, beginning the Great Xivenyu Famine. The sudden death of Thejari I several weeks after the end of the war and the fact that Xivenya was not administered as an acquired territory, even though there were no civil leaders left in Xivenya, are considered to be the main causes of the Xivenyu Famine's unimaginable impact. The famine affect not only Xivenya, but part of Suebu, Sava, and western Tihja. However, Xivenya suffered the most, with 90% of the population In the Tinjongnian-occupied region dissapearing between 1619 and 1634. It was also during this period that the Zivian sasks officially became extinct. Most of the surviving Xivenyu people were the ones who lived in the far north of Xivenya, the region occupied by Vinetia. The Great Xivenyu Famine is considered to have ended with the reign of Phalus II in late 1634, who established the Aizivenya Kantu, officially annexing and beginning the administration of it as a core part of Tinjongnia.Disbandment
