Roseacre
A small, countryside town, originally named after the noble estate around which it was built.
Demographics
Halflings and gnomes are the most common races in the town of Roseacre, with a couple score humans throughout. The majority of the folks here lead simple, small and straightforward lives, earning enough for small comforts, and not much else.
Government
Soft Feudal System, with some town representatives. A level of autonomy is maintained across the board, though there is a "ruling" family, more or less, who have various people employed to oversee the efficiency of the town's agricultural and economic output, to troubleshoot local issues, etc.
Defences
The manor/castle, some low walls ringing part of the town, the small stream. The rolling fields provide both cover and a clear view for its inhabitants, depending on their specific location within the town. Many townsfolk also have small hidey holes or cellars below their homes that, should the need arise, they would flee to with their families.
Industry & Trade
Primary industry is agricultural, with a variety of crops making up the mainstay of the exports that keep the majority of the town's populace afloat.
Infrastructure
Three main watermills, two windmills, a town hall, a small gaol, a very small library, a quaint parish/cathedral (to Melora.) A manor-estate on the hill behind.
Assets
A few grain silos, and the mills mentioned previously. A small river runs through a section of town.
Architecture
Softer edges on most buildings than other settlements in the world. Most buildings are painted a gentle rose, with exposed wooden beams, rafters, windowsills, etc. Two or three communal/commercial buildings are painted a shade closer to cream than rose, but they are by far the exception to the rule. A very gentle, rustic, homely aesthetic overall, with buildings comfortably spaced. Town somehow manages to both sprawl into the surrounding countryside and seem incredibly cosy. Most residential buildings are, indeed, quite small, which no doubt contributes to the cosier appearance.
Geography
Surrounding mostly by grassland, farmland, fields and paddocks. A few small, winding brooks appear here and there throughout the surrounding countryside.
Natural Resources
Fish, freshwater, various grains, pigs, cows, sheep, carrots, potatoes, onions, radishes, wood from a nearby ... wood. And obviously roses.
