Veuhythe (View-Hai-th)

Veuhythe are mythological beasts from Nixian folklore that is a widely accepted concept among various religious groups.   Veuhythe are sentient nebulas that take the forms of various species of fish, usually having long whispy tails and fins that fade out toward the ends. Their exact coloration cannot be agreed upon, however, the colors that they are most commonly described as are Green and Purple.   In the original source material of Nixian folk tales, Veuhythe were beings of immense power that blessed mortals with the tiniest slivers of their begins to infuse mortals with their power, should they be asked for strength. Because of this tale, a simplified logo of a Veuhythe is used as the centerpiece of the Nixian crest, which is present on all accessories of the Nixian Royal Family and is present on all space-faring vessels as it is speculated that a symbol in the image of Veuhythe will help to keep Nix' leaders strong and its explorers and military powerful.   In other iterations of the folktale, some believe that Veuhythe should be feared for their immense power and should never be called upon unless absolutely necessary, lest you invoke their wrath and your wishes are turned against you. Others believe that Veuhythe are essentially gods in their own sense and should be worshipped as such.    This obviously sparks a divide between those that fear, those that worship, and those that know the original tale. Most Nixians who are very in tune with their history are more than displeased with the twisting of the original tale to fit outside views on spirituality and in turn these people who believe these molded views find it insulting that some Nixians would refuse to share their beliefs with the outside, not really understanding the harm they are doing to the Nixian Crest and Nixian Culture by twisting the words of the original tale to fit their own religious ideas.
