Meteor Mites

Living in The Outskirts is difficult enough as it is. Living off of the remains of failed aspirations, feeding off of limited supplies you need to grow artificially, being unable to leave the confines of your home without technological support, and having little to no way to repair the technology if it gets damaged. You and your community are on your own. There is nothing else that can help you except each other. However, there is something that can harm you.   Meteor Mites (More Accurately Asteroid Mites, but let's be real Meteor Mites sounds better.) are large bug-like creatures with an unknown origin that, for some reason, can live comfortably in the vacuum of space and roam around The Outskirts. Much knowledge about The Outskirts is very limited because of how few people from there return to society, but one lone interview from a criminal who ended up turning cykeself in who used to hide out in The Outskirts gave all information known about Meteor Mites. In said interview, cy said:   "Meteor Mites are not your friend. They are eternally hungry beasts from who knows where that eat anything that moves. Seriously, you can't even take a f[CENSORED]ing stroll through the fields without one of the b[CENSORED]rds coming up on you and trying to chew your damn leg off. It's nuts. Like I'm not kidding when I say these things are horrid creatures you do not wanna f[CENSORED] with. Like I've killed so many people, man. I've seen how monstrous and animalistic people can be. Seriously, you ever try killing a guy and they f[CENSORED]ing bite you hard enough to crush a little bone? Yeah. Imagine people were like that just when they were casually hungry. That's what a Meteor Mite is. I miss a lot of things about The Outskirts. The community, the indifference to your past, the fact you can just hang out and start anew regardless of how bad you f[CENSORED]ed up in the past. But those things? Those f[CENSORED]ing Mites? They nearly ruin the whole experience."   Many scientists have expressed their intentions to one day travel to The Outskirts to study these Meteor Mites, however, there is a lot of hesitation considering the reputation The Outskirts has for killing people.

This hilariously reads like a scientist or someone's journal (in a positive way btw). I love it.

Oh yeah, I *love* my characters.   *puts them through hell and back*   I really love them.
