Reinsberg

The Reinsberg dogs have been benefitial, but only while they weren't barking. Renfir was useful, until the fool broke. Now perhaps its time for us to sweep them away along with him, their affiliation with rogue elements is becoming concerning after all.
Modred Blackmore, King of Conlis

"Alles um der herrlichkeit willen."

The Reinsbergs are a particularly old noble family founded during 5,311 AR within Brittania. Their humble beginnings started with their service in the Knights underneath the Blackmore. It started off with Aethril Reinsberg. He was a mediocre knight for all intents and purpose, but he was fiercely loyal to the Blackmore, and that loyalty was what allowed him to gain acknowledgment. Everything he did was for the sake of the family, and was appointed as a member of Brittania's Round Table as a result, despite his mediocrity.   While in service, Aethril actually became quite a competent member of the Knights of Camelot, and his contributions were enough to convince others to acknowledge his efforts. This was, in part, due to him finding an ancient Artifact of the Firstborn, and learning from their mantra to greatly jumpstart his own magic and skill. His efforts and contributions to the Country became so grand that he was even granted the status of nobility, as would his family. Aethril passed on his loyalty to his next of kin, insisting that they do the same throughout the generations, something that even now remains true.   As time passed, however, the family began taking their nobility for granted. They produced weaker and weaker heirs and didn't bother improving themselves. They were just barely scraping by within the Knights, and it wouldn't be long before they wouldn't even be able to produce a heir who could pass the requirements of being a member of the Round Table. The family was starting to get feel political pressure, which was Renfir. He had a solution. He would arrange a marriage between himself and a promising young woman from a skilled commoner seeking fame.   The only accomplishment the family had ever had to their name was being granted Nobility, but they wanted to have their names go down in the record books like the greater Noble families surely would. And as things were, the only history they'd leave behind was being the laughing stocks of the Noble Realm. They needed someone ambitious, eager to prove themselves, and already proven a capable Knight. Ideally, someone who at least had some knowledge of Hexes and Curses, but not preferred. At the end of the day, the family settled on one person. Elise Calasturn.   Elise accepted their proposal, but she was a realistic woman. There was no way she could single-handedly elevate the Reinsbergs in their current state. They'd need help. To that end, he suggested the Battenwood's. They were not amongst the upper Noble families, but they were still a family that carried weight within the Noble realm. In addition due to the different branches, it was possible to strike just the sort of deal they would need to carry the family into greatness. Renfir's had met with the Battenwood's before, and he was on good terms with them as well as their connection to the Blackmore egging the connection on.   In exchange for their assistance, the family would have to offer up a contract of blood to serve the Battenwood's. Renfir had no issue with this, though Elise wasn't as certain. Still, it was agreed upon and the family was sworn to a blood oath as protectors and assistants to the Battenwoods. With this oath came the eventual birth of Renfir's heirs, three to be born precisely.   These children would later be blamed setting the family back for generations. Currently, the Reinsbergs are nothing more than a joke within the Noble families.
