Abilities

Excalibur is a legendary blade created by the Firstborn holding tremendous powers that cannot to date be replicated by any of the races. The material at the very least, due to its effeciency against Daemon-spawn, is considered a 'pure metal', beyond that is unknown. It is rumored in myth that the weapon is the "First Sword", and the basis for all swords designed that came afterward across the continents. It is one of the most powerful weapons in existence, despite its ancient appearance.
The blade itself is completely indestructible by any method currently known. Having withstood all forms of destructive energies and temperatures, even having been the weapon used to deal a mortal wound to the Daemon during the "Great Rupture" and enduring its cursed blood. Despite this durability, the blade weighs absolutely nothing when wielded by it's "accepted owner", or can weigh as much as an entire suit of armor if the sword wishes it.
Along with this durability comes an edge that can never dull. The blade so sharp that it cannot be sheathed normally or it would simply cleave it in half. Instead, it must be held in a specifically made sheath that supports its weight by the hilt alone. Suspended inside a sheath that holds it tightly along the flat of the blade instead. This sharp edge allows it to slice through any physical material with disturbing ease. When weilded by a normal human guard it could easily fell a tree with a single swing.
As great as these factors are, the true strength of the blade comes from its latent mystical capabilities. Excalibur is sentient, holding its own life force, energy, and mind that allows the blade to cast magic granted to it by its Firstborn creators. Due to this, Excalibur holds a small arsenal of spells that it can utilize without needing to drain its wielders stamina in any way. Draining its own reservoirs of energy instead, effectively having its own mana core despite not being a living being.

• Healing: The blade is capable of channeling its energy to heal the wounds of those nearby, including its wielder. Though this is easily its most draining spell, it is able to heal even mortal wounds as long as the individual hasn't died or lost too much blood.
• Protection: Excalibur is capable of protecting its wielder or those nearby with glowing shields of energy and magic. Iit can even protect the mind of others negating the effects of fear, raising morale, and greatly augmenting willpower.

Due to Excalibur's sentience, it refuses to be wielded by those that it doesn't respect. If it dislikes the one trying to wield it, it will not only refuse to assist in battle, but purposely make itself overwhelmingly heavy and unwieldy.
