Anna Omis

pronounced: ah-nah oh-miss
Known and loved by Kings and commoners alike, Anna Omis perhaps is the most brilliantly famous explorer and cartographer in X'anthia. Her maps are strikingly beautiful and indisputably accurate, but beyond that, she knows more about the countries and cultures that call X'anthia home than any other person on the planet.

Naturally Curious

Anna Omis was born in 1725 to a merchant-class family living in a modest home above their shop in Steadystone's Historic Old Towne district. A precocious but mostly well behaved child, she had a tendency to only get in trouble at school. This due to the fact that she was bored, an observation that her parents quickly recognized and remedied. Not only was Anna enrolled in Kononoi Communal Children's Academy, she was also given tutoring in art, music and dance, gymnastics, history, and astronomy. On the weekends, she would travel with her parents on various outings into the countryside, learning about the wide variety of culture, flora, and fauna inhabiting Echorea. She particularly enjoyed chasing small animals and giving them hugs when she caught them.

Thirst for Knowledge

After completing her primary education, instead of joining the The Kononoi Junior Apprentice Program, Anna decided to further her education and enrolled at the Kononoi Institute of Higher Learning. Anna quickly rose to the top of the class, and successfully completed the art program with honors. Many of her completed assignments still hang inside Institute classrooms to this day. She felt there was so much more to learn, however, and re-enrolled at the Institute, this time focusing on both mathematics and astronomy. It was here that Anna met her best friend in the world and fellow astronomy student Naexi Wynbanise.

Wanderlust

After completing her education Anna, along with her bestie Naexi, applied for a position at The Agency of Logistics and Statistics. Since Naexi had her own ship they pretty much had the freedom to explore and map where they wished, and they immediately set sail for places that were wild and unknown. The ladies were joined by Toby Selviskman, Tangereth Ceiten, and Sharwem Ladbup, and the newly formed band of adventurers began documenting the world. From the smallest stream to the largest mountain, and every throne room in between, there were no places left untouched by the travelers. It was not long however, before Anna learned that she and Toby were expecting a child. Anna's son, Damien Omis, was born in 1745 and a few years later, in 1748, her daughter Meghan joined the family.

It quickly became apparent to everyone that Toby cared more about happyplant than his children, and in 1750 he was asked to leave the team. He was replaced, and a tutor also joined the group for the children's primary education abroad. The children added to the groups charisma, and soon they were getting invites to visit kings, nobility, merchants, and commoners alike all across the globe. Anna's maps have been requested from every ruling nation in X'anthia, and her companionship was requested just as much, if not more. Tragedy struck the Omis family in 1762, however, when young Meghan suffered from an illness that struck the young girl blind at the tender age of 14.

At this point Anna retired from active map duties and returned with her children to Steadystone. Here, Anna took an administrative position with the Agency of Logistics and Statistics. Over time she has been promoted, and currently she is the Agency's Director of Operations, the highest position the company offers. Anna spends most of her time with her family, although she still travels as often as she can.
The family tragedy did wind up having one concession - the trials and stresses felt by their whole family during Meghan's illness served to develop their abilities as planeswalkers. While largely untested thus far, the family has made a trip to a world called Ubrabis and met some of the magically inclined peoples of Illyara. More trips are planned for the future, but the family wants to complete the training of Meghan's companion animal, a bear of a slobbery mutt dog named Trixie, before risking any more adventures on unknown realms.
